Wine Options

A brand new and up-to-the minute corporate game which has proved extremely popular with our clients and their guests. It is highly interactive, very unusual, great fun and geared towards informal team involvement to provide a friendly competitive evening’s entertainment and to be a memorable and fun.

The event begins with a champagne reception, followed by an amusing and informative introduction as to recognising wine characteristics and their complexity, grape varieties, countries of origin, production methods etc.

One or two champagnes and six different wines in all will be sampled; all from small independent producers that will generally never be found on the shelves of supermarkets or multiple wine merchants.

The event is a real experience and offers a fascinating introduction to the world of wines. Experiential, informative and competitive; but do expect a few of the self confessed "experts" to be surprised by the so-called novices!

The Wine Options game has become something of a success for corporate and larger private party applications in this country. Originating as a form of “house party” game played by French nobility and Chateau owners, it has been introduced and adapted by Corporative to suit British tastes and sense of gamesmanship.

We set the scene, explaining the rules essentially, Wine Options is a blind wine tasting competition but the joy of it is that the format makes it accessible to novices and experts alike.

The game is a team game and involves tasting a number of wines – usually six – and picking one of the three options for each variety regarding country of origin, grape variety, cost, etc. Bonus point questions may also be thrown-in by the Wine Options Master from time to time. The correct answer is always there, all you have to do is pick it! At the end of each set of questions, the points for each team (for it is a team game) are tallied, and the winners announced.

As corporate entertainment, teambuilding, an ice-breaker, or simply a party, this is difficult to beat. There is a high degree of team-playing, lots of discussion, plenty of laughter, and as the evening wears on, lots of gamesmanship.

Everyone gets enough to drink, and hopefully learn something, with liquid prizes for the winning team if required.
